While the term is sometimes used to encompass stimulants (e.g. methamphetamine), depressants (e.g. opiates), dissociatives (e.g. ketamine), and deliriants (e.g. muscimol), compounds classified today as psychedelics are those with low toxicity and low potential for abuse.
Magi Ancestral Supplements are psycho*active, but are NOT counted as psychedelic. They can induce hallucination at higher dose.

The hero ingredient in Magi Nootropic Supplements are beta-carbolines, a class of naturally occurring organic compounds with psycho*active and neuroprotective properties [1] which we extract and purify from the ancestral plant Espand. Beta-carbolines are found naturally in a few plants including Espand (Peganum Harmala) and Yage (Banisteriopsis Caapi), the ancestral Amazonian plant that is the main ingredient in the psychedelic brew Ayahuasca [2]. We formulate each of our nootropics with a precise dose of different beta-carbolines extracted and isolated from Espand.
Magi capsules are gelatin-based, made from vegetable cellulose.

All of Magi Ancestral Supplements’ products contain beta-Carbolines, but each product differs in both the quantity (microdose < minidose < macrodose) as well as the composition (the ratio of the different types of beta-Carbolines: harmine, harmaline, tetrahydroharmine, harmalol, etc).
Each product has been formulated precisely for its intended use. For example, Stard Deep Meditation Supplement has been formulated with a precise dose and ratio of beta-Carbolines to increase Alpha frequency brainwaves during meditation. Ushta Mood Boost Supplement has been formulated with a precise dose and ratio of beta-Carbolines to pair with Suan Zao Ren extract, in order to increase synchronicity of Theta and Gamma frequency brainwaves.
Magi supplements are made in our lab based in the USA from natural extracts, that we isolate with our proprietary technology (extraction and purification).
While Espand is of Iranian ancestral origin, we do not import any plants from Iran in the making of our nootropics. All of the plants and fungi that we use are grown in the USA.

Magi nootropic supplements are safe when taken as directed at the recommended dosage. Our patent pending process is able to extract Espand’s mind-building beta-Carbolines at high purity, while removing the potentially toxic substances from the plant. We do not recommend that anybody try to consume Espand in a full-spectrum format without having separated the active alkaloids from these potentially toxic components.
In addition to their anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties, beta-Carbolines also function as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) that can cause an increase in blood pressure when consuming foods containing tyramine. It’s best to avoid consuming tyramine-rich foods altogether when taking Magi Nootropic Supplements.
Nevertheless, we have conducted a thorough independent 3rd-party toxicology study of our formulations, and they are generally recognized as Safe, if taken according to the recommended dosing.
The majority of your body’s neurotransmitters are actually in the gut, not the brain. For this reason we recommend taking our supplements either first thing in the morning or last thing in the evening to improve absorption efficiency by your body’s central nervous system. Food can interfere with neurotransmitter absorption, and so the closer your stomach is to empty, the higher the bioavailability.
While not common, some people can experience nausea when consuming beta-Carbolines, and so taking on an empty stomach also helps to mitigate this potential.
